"I manage a LAN of over 200 users over a WAN to 6 different remote sites. The Server Management utility has been fantastic. We have always had issues with Arcserve backup on our NetWare servers, therefore can not fully rely on our backups. There have been many occasions when my users have deleted files they desperately needed. It has been so much quicker and more efficient to use the utility to recover these files. It is instant. Arcserve would be a minimum of 40 minutes."

"We use AdRem Server Manager version 4.0.0.783. I nominate the Trustee Rights export functionality, that gives us the opportunity to save it as an HTML file to a root directory. If a user has dragged a directory to a different place then all the rights are gone when you move it back. Now you know what the rights have to be by looking into this AdRem trustee rights report.
Secondly I nominate the function Opened Files in the Disk Manager section. Here you can see who has opened a specific file. In our case a user wants to open a drawing and sees that someone else has already opened it, but doesn't know who. Now they can call me to check it out with AdRem Server Manager."

When a user is deleting a lot of directories, it is simple to restore the rights (with the help of the saved file) after a salvage of files and directories. In this way I don't have to restore them from tape."
