INodes monitoring with NetCrunch
INodes are the critical part of file-system on most of Linux/Unix machines. See how NetCrunch can keep track of available INodes and alert you if a number of iNodes is under a certain threshold.
Add INode sensor
Adding a sensor is easy, keep in mind that the sensor will work only on the machine where INodes are being used.
- Open node settings where the sensor should be added
- Click on + Add Monitoring Sensor
- Use search to find INodes
- Add sensor. If the machine is monitored as Linux, you can already use the test button to make sure the profile used for monitoring is correct.
By default, NetCrunch will monitor Free % of INodes on all mount points. Default alerting script is set to raise an alert when % Free INodes is less than 10%.
NetCrunch gives the possibility to monitor an exact number of Free, Used or Total INodes on a given mount point. To do that, simply add a collector to get such information and add a new alert for a given condition.
