Getting visibility on the bandwidth and link utilization between the company's sites

I have added all the firewalls to the Network Topology views, but I still can't see them connected or the link between them. What should I do?

Applies to 15.x 14.x 13.x 12.x 11.x 10.x

To diagnose missing connections between the nodes in the Network Topology views, check the following:

  1. Verify that the same SNMP version (v1, v2, or v3) is configured on the device and in the NetCrunch SNMP Profile.
  2. Check if data is displayed in the Node Status->Interfaces on any firewall/switch.
  3. Check if SNMP counter values are properly collected and displayed in the Node Status->Performance on your firewall/switch.
  4. NetCrunch uses information from the BRIDGE-MIB to display the Physical Segment data, so make sure this information is accessible on your firewalls/switches.
  5. If the SNMPv3 version is used, configure the Context Names on the SNMP devices and in the NetCrunch SNMP Profile(s).

Note:

If the described tips do not solve your problem, we may need to diagnose it further for your particular device (it may respond in a less standardized way). We may request an SNMP walk file from this device to verify it. Please contact AdRem support for the SNMPWalker diagnostic tool at support@adremsoft.com.
