How to reinstall NetCrunch

After installing Windows update on the NetCrunch server, I cannot open NetCrunch Console locally on the server. What should I do?

Applies to 11.x

  1. Deactivate your license with NCLicensemanager.exe located in the start menu or in the program installation directory, and follow the steps listed in the detailed instruction here.

Wait for the NetCrunch Server service to restart.

  1. Create full atlas backup of your NetCrunch from the Remote Administration Console (Atlas->Maintenance->Backup->Full Atlas Backup) or use the latest automatic backup that you performed in NetCrunch.

  2. Run NetCrunch Server Installer - and select the option that uninstalls NetCrunch Server. Alternatively, you may uninstall it from the Windows Start menu->Programs and applications.

  3. Reboot the machine.

  4. Run NetCrunch Server Installer again and install program and atlas in the default folders (unless you used other folders previously - then choose the same respective folders for the program and atlas data).

  5. Activate the license (using NCLicenseManager.exe) and wait for the NetCrunch Server service to restart automatically.

  6. Start NetCrunch Console.
