Large NetCrunch Database

NetCrunch generated "Database size is close to the maximum capacity" alert, what should I do?

Applies to 12.x 11.x 10.x

By default, NetCrunch generates such alert when the size of the database reaches 10 GB (on HDD drive) and 30 GB (on SSD drive). It doesn't mean that NetCrunch can't save new events anymore, it's just information that the database is really big and there may be some degradation in database performance.

The very first thing to do when such an alert is generated is to check the Server status (Event Database tab).

If Last Save Time (ms) counter shows around ~10 ms - NetCrunch is functioning normally, but keep in mind that you need to check this counter periodically if it doesn't increase over time.

When the counter is higher than that - you should consider limiting the number of events that are saved to the database, and limit the number of days events are kept in the database. To reduce database size, please contact AdRem's support team for instructions.
