Monitoring devices without creating warning or alerts

We would like to monitor some Apple TVs to know if they are on (pingable). We do not want to be alerted when they go off.

Applies to 12.x 11.x 10.x 9.x

You can monitor the status of the device without generating alerts nor collecting performance data - simply switch the monitoring type of this node (or group of nodes) into Simplified Monitoring. In this monitoring type, only the status of network services (previously discovered on this node) is being checked.

Simplified Monitoring can be enabled in the Node Settings window. Simply click on the "stopwatch" icon (in the upper-left side of the window) and choose the "Switch to Simplified Monitoring" option.

You can revert to the standard monitoring type anytime by clicking on the "Switch to standard monitoring" button in the Node Settings window of the particular node. You can do it for a group of nodes by using the multiselection and changing monitoring type for all of them in a single click.
