Windows Inventory

What data can I get from the Inventory?

Main purpose of inventory is to show hardware installed on selected machine, software, updates, hotfixes etc. It can be used to compare hardware or software of two different nodes, or changes that were made on single node through some time. Inventory has various tabs to show different aspects of nodes.

General

This tab contains primary information about Operating system and Hardware.

Hardware

This tab contains a lot of detailed information about hardware that is installed in node: Processors, Memory, Mainboard, ports, etc.

Operating System

This tab, as name says contains every information about system that is currently on selected node like: version, service pack installed, language, system directory etc.

Hot Fixes

This tab shows what updates and when were installed on system, if user right-click on selected update and choose View details, proper web page with information about that update will open.

Software

This tab shows information about installed software (not only system updates). It has information about date of installation, who published this software and name of it.

Change log

This tab shows what and when has been done to node. It contains detailed description and date.

Information that are collected by inventory monitor can be configured to run every month, week or day on desired time. It gives possibilities to schedule inventory check that will give best result of having all software hotfixes up to date.

Default inventory data collection time can be set in: Tools->Options->Monitoring->Default Node Settings.
