Mailbox Sensor

What is mailbox sensor and how do I use it?

Mail Sensor featured in Adrem Netcrunch 8.3 provides possibility of monitoring Mailbox.

Please take note, that MailBox Monitor is used to monitor if MailServer works correctly (Sending Mail, auth. errors receiving mails etc), this sensor will not check mail content.

To Monitor Mailbox, add or locate node with Mail Server installed.

Example of Configuration Mailbox Sensor:

Email: This Field should contain login with domain to your account i.e. name@domain.com

Email content to be send: This field can be filled with message that Sensor will send periodically to mailbox to monitor if mailbox responds correctly. Messages sent by sensor will be automatically deleted by sensor.

Login Information:

User name: This Field should be filled with full user name i.e. name@domain.com

Password: This field should contain password to specified user.

Connection:

Use Secure connection : This field can be ticked, depends if Mail Server supports SSL Incoming Protocol: POP3 or IMAP

Incoming Port: This field is filled by default ports automatically depends on which Incoming protocol is selected.

SMTP port : Similar to above example, this field is automatically set with default ports depends on which protocol is selected.
