NetCrunch doesn't support any anti-virus software installed on the same system.
Many antivirus systems can disrupt NetCrunch's proper functioning due to heuristics, which are the primary method for detecting harmful software. Anti-virus software can also cause performance issues and problems accessing system components, such as the registry.
Another problem is the high memory fragmentation caused by Antivirus software (for example, McAfee). This can lead to "Out Of Memory" exceptions in NetCrunch due to small "free memory blocks" that NetCrunch can allocate.
To stay safe without using Anti-Virus software on your server, follow these simple steps:
- Do not use the server for browsing the internet. Do it from workstations with anti-virus installed instead.
- Connect to the NetCrunch Server using the remote NetCrunch Administration Console, which can be installed on a desktop system like Windows 10 or 11.
- Avoid RDP connection to NetCrunch Administration Console. Multiple RDP connections may negatively influence the server's performance
