AdRem NetCrunch Connection Broker allows establishing connections with NetCrunch Server. It is installed along with the NetCrunch Server and NetCrunch Administration Console, if the console is installed separately on remote machines.
NetCrunch Connection Broker is also initiated automatically while starting NetCrunch Administration Console locally or on remote machines.
The status of the NetCrunch Connection Broker is indicated in the system tray and may be one of the following:
- Connected
- NetCrunch Connection Broker successfully connected to all of the servers on the list. Therefore, notifications are received from all connected NetCrunch Servers.
- Not Connected
- NetCrunch Connection Broker cannot connect to any of the servers on the list. The possible reason why connections cannot be established is that entered IP address of the machine with installed NetCrunch Server or its password is not valid. In such a case, notifications also cannot be received.
- Warning
- NetCrunch Connection Broker cannot connect to some of the servers on the list.
- Information
- There is no servers added to the NetCrunch Connection Broker list.
NetCrunch Connection Broker functionality
- Opening NetCrunch Administration Console independently for each connected NetCrunch Server.
- Receiving notifications on the remote/local computer from all NetCrunch Servers already connected and viewing them in the NetCrunch Alert Notifications window.
- Using speak alerts for all connected NetCrunch Servers.
- Viewing reports by using the Report Viewer window independently for each connected NetCrunch Server.
- Viewing trends by using the NetCrunch Trend Viewer window independently for each connected NetCrunch Server.
- Using the iTools and WMI Tools independently for each NetCrunch Server.
- Managing the list of connections to many NetCrunch Servers along with unique password defined for each server.
- Adding and removing the servers to which it is connected. It is possible through the AdRem NetCrunch Connection Broker Options window, which is accessible by right-clicking the NetCrunch Connection Broker icon and selecting Server Connections.
Note: After establishing a connection and opening the selected application from the NetCrunch Connection Broker context menu, NetCrunch Server maintains the connection with the opened application and NetCrunch Connection Broker is no longer used for this purpose.
If it is running, it can receive desktop notifications from NetCrunch Servers to which it is connected.
If NetCrunch Connection Broker is opened and connection with the server established but no application started, NetCrunch Server maintains connection directly with NetCrunch Connection Broker. After closing the broker, all established server connections will be closed.
