How to set default node properties

Applies to 12.x 11.x 10.x 9.x

Tools->Options->Monitoring->Default Node Settings

To specifies default settings for node identification method and monitoring time, use Default Node Settings page. You can edit the following options:

  • identification method which NetCrunch use to identify nodes by default: Auto, IP address or DNS name,
  • default monitoring time,
  • SNMP profile and SNMP port used for SNMP monitoring,
  • timeout and retry count values for SNMP actions,
  • data collection time used for collecting inventory data.

Later, when new nodes are discovered or inserted in the atlas, they will automatically be setup with the default settings specified in the Default Node Settings options.

Note: The default monitoring time will be applied only to newly added nodes.
