Configuring the NetCrunch Server connection settings

The configuration settings of basic NetCrunch Server contain changing the password or port number.

The Direct Connection section of the Connection window allows configuration of NetCrunch Server port number: NetCrunch->NetCrunch System->Connections

The password can be configured separately for Admin and each created user in NetCrunch->NetCrunch System->User and Access Rights Manager. The unique password protects the server from unauthorized or accidental connections.

To change the NetCrunch Server connection settings:

1. Open NetCrunch->NetCrunch System->Connections from the main program menu.
2. In the Port field click blue Change button and type the port number on which the NetCrunch Administration Console connects to NetCrunch Server.
3. Click Continue to accept the settings.
4. Open NetCrunch->NetCrunch System->User and Access Rights Manager from the main program menu.
5. Select the user (default Admin) and click Change Password tile.
6. In the Password field type the password used when connecting via the Administration Console and click Apply.
7. Click OK to accept the settings.

Note: Note that if the changes are to be effective, the NetCrunch Connection Broker must be restarted on the NetCrunch Server machine. The default port used for connecting NetCrunch Administration Console to NetCrunch Server is 12009 for NetCrunch 9 and newer. It is specifically important when the console is used on the remote machine.
