Reporting

The main goal of reporting is to provide a long-term view of the performance of the network and its elements like services and applications.

Monitoring packs in NetCrunch can be used for monitoring any atlas, map or single node. A monitoring pack may consist of an alerting used for monitoring and data collection used for reporting.

Using information obtained from processed events and gathered trends, NetCrunch creates custom trend reports or use a set of predefined and configurable report templates that can be enabled for a single node, a group of nodes or data collection belonging to a map or the entire atlas.

Users generate any type of report they wish, at any scheduled time, and can even choose to forward the results to other recipients at a specific time.

NetCrunch collects data only for those reports added to any monitoring policy regardless of scheduling.

As a result, the program will gather only relevant data and conserve network resources.

All collected data are kept in NetCrunch for the period defined in the Options window:

Tools->Options->General Options->Maintenance.
