Adding a new network service to NetCrunch

How do I add a new network service to be monitored by NetCrunch?

NetCrunch comes with more than 60 predefined network services that can be monitored on any node in the network.

Follow the steps below to monitor network service with NetCrunch:

  1. right click on any node, select Monitoring->Network Services->Properties
  2. click 'Add Service' button to add a new network service to be monitored
  3. select desired network service from pull down menu (Note: Some of the network services can be monitored on Advanced level like: HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, FTP, POP3, SMTP)
  4. click OK
  5. you can tweak monitoring settings for each listed network service

NetCrunch allows user to create a new custom network service definition. Go to Tools->Options->Monitoring->Network Services->Definitions.
