To add a new SNMP counter or trap to monitoring, we recommend creating a new Monitoring Pack. If there is an existing Monitoring Pack for the device you want to expand monitoring for, you can do so within that existing pack.
You need to define a threshold so you can easily add it to the nodes later. To add a counter to an existing Monitoring Pack, follow these steps:
- Navigate to
Settings->Alerting & Notifications->Monitoring Packs and Policies. - Select an existing SNMP Monitoring Pack, for example, Cisco.
- Configure the alert for the value by clicking
Add Alertand selecting theSNMPtab. - Now you can choose between the SNMP performance counter, SNMP trap, and SNMP variable value.
- After you have made your choice, please select a value from MIB or enter a specific OID, select the threshold and resetting value, then click
OK.
By following these steps, you can effectively add new SNMP counters or traps to your monitoring setup, enhancing the monitoring capabilities for your devices.
