In some cases, a MIB from the vendor needs to be compiled to have access to this OID.
To set up an alert that is triggered based on the rising or falling threshold of the value of a specific OID in the MIB, go to the node in question and define the Event by following these steps:
- right click on the node, select Alerting-->Edit Node Alerting Policy (note: node needs to be SNMP enabled)
- click on the 'Add' button to add an event
- select 'SNMP' tab and then 'SNMP Performance Threshold' option
- under description type in a general name for the event
- to select OID, click "Performance counter" blue text
- for SNMP Counter Source Type, select MIB database
- click the button with dots [...] to browse the MIB Database
- using MIB explorer locate your OID
- select OID, click okay

in the next window Click [...] under instance
- Click on the Selected and select an instance or
- Overall of the following [Total, Average, Minimum, Maximum] of all interfaces on the host
- Complete the steps as directed by Alert Config. Wizard
