Adding counter or OID to monitoring from newly compiled MIB

I have compiled a new MIB and would like to monitor a performance counter. How can I do it?

Applies to 8.x

To add a new SNMP counter or trap to monitoring we recommend creating new Monitoring Pack or using existing one and defining a threshold so you can easily add it later to the nodes. To add a counter to an existing Monitoring Pack please do the following:

  1. Go to Tools -> Settings -> Alerting&Reporting
  2. Select an existing SNMP Monitoring Pack, for an example Cisco
  3. Click Add Alert and select SNMPtab
  4. Now you can choose between SNMP performance counter and SNMP trap
  5. After you have made your choice please select a value from MIB or enter a specific OID, select the threshold and resetting value then click OK
