Monitoring "Authentication Failure" Windows Event Log entry

Every day, the event log is full of "Authentication failure" error messages, although we configured SNMP correctly. In what case does this "Authentication failure" message appear? How can this problem be solved?

Applies to 6.x

The message "Authentication failure" comes up when there's unauthorized access to an agent externally. This is an agent's message that is sent by an agent as a SNMP trap. Since, NetCrunch works as an SNMP Manager it listens on port 162 receives all their traps. You may disable this in Tools->Options->Monitoring->SNMP Traps.

Check to ensure that you have the correct SNMP read community set.
