Monitoring Virtual Drives

I am trying to get drive capacity monitoring working on my Windows 2003/2008 Server boxes. Currently the root drives (C:) are monitored but how do I get the other drives (D:, E:) monitored ? I can see this in the Threshold alert policy 'Disk C Free Space `< 10 %' set at the Windows Server policy level (Policies->`Windows Server).

Applies to 6.x

If you want to set it up for the atlas or for a custom map, go into the NetCrunch Monitoring Policies window (click 'Policies' button on main program bar). You can also set it up for a node, by right clicking on a node, selecting Alerting->Edit Node Alerting Policy. Then follow these steps:

  1. click 'Add' button to add an event
  2. from 'Windows' tab select 'Windows Application Performance Threshold' option
  3. click on the blue text to find the performance counter
  4. browse to Performance object "logical disk"
  5. select %Free Space
  6. select Instance D: (or other drive)
  7. click Add and change 'exceeds' to 'drops below' expression
  8. set up the threshold to 10
  9. click 'OK' when done

You've just defined the Event - now create the alert, to see the remainder of the steps see related article Configuring an Alerthere.
