How to add up time widget (8.x)

I would like to create a widget and display a device up time, how can I do it?

Applies to 8.x

There are two ways of adding Up Time to Widgets in NetCrunch.

First one - select one from our predefined counters. These counters are added to NetCrunch by default. If UP TIME is not added as a predefined counter to your device, see second way . Please note that the monitored node must have SNMP enabled. In order to add up time monitoring from predefined counter:

  1. Create new map (or edit existing one) and add data widget - Value and Text is most suitable here
  2. After Widget is added edit the properties
  3. Counter Source should be Selected node, now select the node, which UP time you want to monitor
  4. Select Counter - In most cases Currently Monitored on Selected node should contain UP Time by default
  5. If UP Time is not present in Currently Monitored on Selected Node, select SNMP Performance counters -> Predefined counters -> Performance object: Global -> Up time
  6. Select Milliseconds as a display units
  7. Multiplication factor should be 1000, because this counter has "Seconds" unit, so it has to be multiplicated by 1000 to give desired result
  8. Apply changes and save map, widget will be updated shortly.
  9. To Check if everything was configured properly , right click on widget and select SNMP View, after data is loaded, compare UP time from SNMP info with the widget.
