Applies to 6.x

To set up an alert that is triggered when Ping RTT (Return Trip Time) is greater that a certain amount. Please note, you can do this for any other services defined.

  1. right click on the node, select Alerting-->Edit Node Alerting Policy
  2. click on 'Add' button to add an event
  3. in newly opened window select 'Services & Interfaces' tab
  4. select Network Service Availability thresholds
  5. type in a general name for the event for ex: "RTT greater than 100 ms"
  6. from drop down list select desired network service
  7. beneath Performance Counter, select "Round Trip Time"
  8. select condition to trigger alert: exceeds/drops below
  9. type in the value
  10. click ok. click ok.

You've just defined the Event -- now create the alert or action, to see the remainder of the steps see related article: Configuring an Alert or Configuring and Action
