Physical map shows incomplete information: missing devices or port number. (6.x-8.x)
I have noticed that in the "Physical Segment" view, I have a switch that has 6 nodes connected. When I double click and go to the "interfaces" tab, it indicates there are 11 active ports on the switch. It does not show the eleven that it should. It also does not always display the port number that the node is connected to. It looks like it possibly could be covered up by node icon. There is a "dumb" switch connected to that the port. How do I edit my physical segments map to show correct information?

You cannot edit the physical segments map, since it is created and refreshed automatically by NetCrunch.
In case of the "missing nodes", check the following possibilities:
-
Are these devices remote? NetCrunch cannot build the physical map of a remote network if not all devices are SNMP enabled.
-
This is an unmanageable switch or hub and NetCrunch cannot get information from it.
-
The devices on these ports have not been discovered; e.g., their IP address is not in the list of nodes. You can try to add them physically (Insert->Node).
