Disabling (Windows Server or other) predefined alerts creating custom thresholds

Disabling the event:

NetCrunch 6.x

1. Click the Policies button on main program toolbar.
2. Click the Windows Servers policy (or select your own) and select Edit (Let's say that we wanted to disable "Disk C Free Space < 10%"). 3. Right-click this event and select Alert Rule-->
3. Right-click this event and select Alert Rule-->Disable Event Generation. Such an event will not be generated at all.
4. Click OK. You can also simply delete this event.

NetCrunch 7 and 8

1. Go to Tools->Alerting&reporting->Settings.
2. Right-click Windows Server monitoring pack and select Edit (Let's say that we wanted to disable "Disk C Free Space Settings->Monitoring Packs tab->Windows Server. 2. Click
3. Click Add button to add an event.
4. From Windows tab select Windows Application Performance Threshold.
5. Type a description like "My Disk C Free Space < 10%".
6. Click the performance counter blue text.
7. For Performance Object, select Logical Disk. To enable it, you may need to run "diskperf -y" from cmd line.
8. Under Select counter from list select % Free Space.
9. Under Select Instance from list select C:
10. Change condition from exceeds to drops below.
11. Indicate Threshold Value to 10
12. Click OK twice to finish .
