Basic Alert Configuration (Host down)

How do I set it up in NetCrunch so that when my server goes down, I am alerted via email?

Applies to 6.x

To set up an alert that is triggered when host is down, perform the following steps. Please note, you can do this at the atlas level, at the map level or at the node level. This example will show you how to define the alert at the Node level:

  1. Right click on the node, select Alerting-->Edit Node Alerting Policy
  2. Click 'Add' button to add an event
  3. From the 'Basic' tab select Node is Down event
  4. Click OK twice to confirm this operation

Please be aware that 'Node is Down' event is set up on the Atlas level by default.

You've just defined the Event -- now create the alert or action, to see the remainder of the steps see related article: Configuring an Alert or Configuring Action
